Who can have Bowen?
Bowen therapy is a gentle and effective technique which makes it suitable for ages from babies to the elderly and everyone in-between. It's also great for women who are pregnant and those who are in chronic or acute pain.
Why do you wait between moves?
It provides the body time to respond to each move. The reason for the wait times is to allow the nervous system time to acknowledge and respond to each individual move (message). If we were to do a Bowen without these very vital pauses. The body would not have time to process each individual message, therefore the treatment would not be as beneficial as it could be .
Is bowen therapy good for stress/anxiety?
Bowen therapy is very effective in relaxing muscle tension and reducing the body's stress levels. It is a gentle neuromuscular technique that resets the nervous system, helping to restore calmness and deep relaxation throughout the whole body.
Is Bowen beneficial for children?
It is exceedingly gentle, supremely relaxing and children lap it up, making it an ideal treatment for babies and older children alike.
Sessions can be carried out seated on chairs, on mum or dad’s lap, on a treatment couch or even whilst the child is playing. Treatment is applied through light clothing and always whilst the parent or guardian is present. There is no forceful manipulation, no sudden ‘adjustments’.
improvement in symptoms of childhood issues, including painful conditions, asthma, anxiety, ADHD and autism. Benefits can be a reduction in anxiety, better concentration, improved sleep patterns and relief from pain.
Also Bowen benefits children who may suffer from: migraines; help with ADHD symptoms, anxiety and/or sleeplessness, colic ,growing pains and many more
What do I wear?
Bowen Therapy is performed through clothing, so any clothing works except denim as its too think and may result in a less effective treatment.
